Privacy Policy

Your invoices stay yours.

ClawBill is an Android invoicing app built by Crabmind for freelancers and contractors. The app is offline-first: invoice, client, catalog, payment, company, and bank details are stored on your device unless you choose to export, share, print, back up, or restore them.

No ClawBill account

The app does not require you to create an account with us.

Local business data

Your invoice records and business contacts are saved in local app storage.

Consent-based diagnostics

Analytics and crash reporting run only when you enable the related consent toggles.

Who we are

ClawBill is provided by Crabmind. You can contact us about privacy or support through the contact link below.

Information you enter into the app

ClawBill stores the data you choose to enter so the app can create invoices and track payments. This may include:

  • Company profile details such as business name, your name, address, email, phone number, tax ID, website, default currency, and logo reference.
  • Client details such as name, email, phone number, address, tax ID, notes, and invoice history.
  • Invoices, invoice line items, dates, payment terms, currencies, discounts, tax settings, notes, totals, and client snapshots used to keep issued PDFs accurate.
  • Payments, payment methods, payment dates, payment descriptions, payment settings, and bank account details such as bank name, account number, IBAN, SWIFT, and currency.
  • Catalog products or services, SKUs, descriptions, units, prices, discounts, tax settings, and related usage information.
  • App preferences such as theme, PDF paper size, color mode, default tax, default notes, signature reference, analytics consent, crash reporting consent, and whether consent has been answered.

This information is stored in the app's local database or local preferences on your Android device. We do not operate a ClawBill cloud account system for this data.

PDFs, sharing, printing, exports, and backups

When you generate a PDF, ClawBill creates the file on your device and may store temporary PDF or export files in app storage or cache. When you share, print, export, back up, or restore data, you choose the destination app or file location. The privacy practices of the destination app or storage provider then apply.

Analytics and crash reporting

ClawBill includes Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. These services are consent-gated in the app:

  • Usage analytics are off unless you enable analytics consent.
  • Crash reporting is off unless you enable crash reporting consent.
  • You can change both choices in the app's Settings privacy section.

Our analytics implementation is designed not to log client names, email addresses, invoice amounts, or other invoice/customer content. Events are limited to product usage signals such as screen views, feature gates, billing-flow outcomes, coarse invoice-count buckets, PDF option categories, and similar non-content metadata.

Firebase may process technical information needed to provide analytics and crash reporting, such as app version, device and OS information, crash traces, diagnostics, identifiers for app instances, and general usage metadata. Firebase is provided by Google.

Subscriptions and purchases

ClawBill uses Google Play Billing for Pro subscriptions. Purchases are handled by Google Play. ClawBill checks subscription status and may set a non-personal user property such as whether Pro is active when analytics consent is enabled. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

App lock and biometrics

If you enable the app lock, ClawBill stores lock settings and a PIN hash in encrypted shared preferences on your device. The app does not store your raw PIN. Biometric unlock is handled by Android; ClawBill does not receive or store biometric data.

Device permissions

The app may use these Android permissions:

  • Internet access, used for Google Play Billing, Firebase diagnostics when you consent, and links that open in your browser.
  • Google Play Billing, used to manage Pro subscriptions through Google Play.
  • Biometric authentication, used only if you enable biometric app lock.

Android backup and device transfer

If Android backup or device transfer is enabled on your device, Android may back up or transfer ClawBill's local database and preferences according to your device and Google account settings. This helps preserve your invoices and settings when moving devices. You can manage Android backup from your device settings.

Website data

When you visit this website, your browser and our hosting/CDN providers may process standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, request URLs, timestamps, and security logs. We use this to deliver the website, protect it, and understand basic site reliability. The website may also link to Google Play or open your email app when you contact us.

How we use information

We use information for these purposes:

  • To provide local invoicing, client, catalog, payment, PDF, export, and settings features.
  • To keep issued invoice snapshots accurate after later client edits.
  • To manage Pro subscription access through Google Play Billing.
  • To improve app stability and understand feature usage when you have consented to diagnostics.
  • To respond to support requests you send us.

Sharing information

We do not sell your personal information. We share or process information only when needed to operate the app and website, including with Google Play Billing, Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics when enabled by consent, Android backup services when enabled by your device settings, website hosting/CDN providers, and any apps or services you choose for sharing, printing, exporting, or backing up your invoices.

Data deletion and control

You control the business data stored in ClawBill. Because ClawBill does not require an account with us, most deletion happens directly on your Android device:

  • To delete individual records, open ClawBill and delete the invoice, client, catalog item, payment, or bank account from the related screen.
  • To delete all local app data, open ClawBill, go to Settings, then Danger Zone, and use Clear All Data when available.
  • You can also remove local app data from Android Settings by opening Apps, ClawBill, Storage, then Clear storage or Clear data.
  • Uninstalling ClawBill removes the app and its local data from the device.

If Android backup is enabled, backup copies may remain under your Google account or device backup settings until removed or overwritten according to Google's policies. You can manage this from Android or Google backup settings. If you contacted us by email, you can ask us to delete that support conversation from our support records.

Children

ClawBill is a business invoicing tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as ClawBill changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
